I'm Jake, 22, from Herefordshire and I'm a Lorry Driver. I brought my truck, a 2010 plate MK4 Supercab, in 2020 and have spent the last few years turning it into an overlanding rig. Whilst she is still a work in progress, she has plenty of miles of lanes under her tires and has managed to conquer every obstacle in the way. She has taken me to some of the most beautiful places this country has to offer, all whilst with a wheel in the air and mud plastered up the doors. After I bought my truck, I planed to keep it relatively stock as it was my daily driver and work truck. The modification started; first putting a set of mud tires on, then buying a roof tent so I could travel the country and a snorkel to cope with the winter flooding in my local area. However after doing some pretty harsh off roading I realised It needed some better protection starting with the front. I built a winch bumper, copying the baja style, with a large front bash plate and minimal outer frame, with a place to later mount a winch. I also fitted some LED light bars to replace the "candle light" headlights and the difference was night and day. After digging into a small amount of bubbling paint on the rear tub, I discovered it was much worse than I first thought. The tub was filled with rust so I made the decision to remove it completely and build myself a custom tray Back. It first started out as a flat bed but has since progressed back to pick up and now has a rear roll cage. I have a lot of exciting mods and builds planned for this truck and it will continue to evolve as I go.
